Transition

At Oasis Academy MediaCityUK our vision is to ensure that every student is equipped with the skills, abilities and qualifications to pursue a fulfilment career and become respectful responsible global citizens.

We are a small secondary school who pride ourselves on the strength of our relationships with students and their parents. We are proud of these relationships, which are caring and supportive and enable us to know, value and understand every single student extremely well.

We focus on developing other character of all our young people as well as their academic skills and provide a range of enrichment opportunities to help them explore and develop themselves, understanding of the world around them and their contribution to our community.

Our transition programme begins in year 5 where we provide opportunities for children to visit the academy and work with us on a range of social, cultural, creative and sporting activities.

In year 6 students can find out more about what it like to be a student at the academy by working with our student leaders and peer mentors. Student leaders visit our partner primary schools regularly to help younger children develop confidence about the move to secondary education.

Our transition team work with staff in each of our primary schools to find out as much as possible about the children who will be joining us in September so we know each student well before they arrive. This means we understand the social, emotional, cultural and learning needs of every student and can plan a rich and varied programme of experiences, which will ensure they succeed.

Our transition days and induction programme at the end of the summer term in year 6 will ensure parents and children feel comfortable and confident about the move to secondary school and are excited about joining us.

We know that our students are happy and love coming to school and we strive to make every single day the best it can be. We look forward to welcoming parents to visit the academy and see us in action during the normal school day and to talk to our young people about what it really means to be a student at Oasis Academy MediaCityUK.

We have an open evening in September each year but are happy to make appointments for any interested parents at any other time.
